Today I am thankful for my mom's group that meets on Monday nights. I have come to love these girls so much and really look to them for godly wisdom and advice on mothering. Some of us have only 1 kid, a couple have 2, and a couple have 3. It's just so nice to know that other moms go through the same things you do and their kids have the same meltdowns and your not alone. We all come from different backgrounds and some of knew each other before we started meeting and some of us just met. We always end staying at least 3 hours and we don't meet until 8 or after. (I think I've even seen the a.m. once or twice:-)) We laugh, cry, pray,... I recommend this therapy it to all moms!!

Today was pretty uneventful. Finley had Mother's day out which she loves and I got to have a mother's day out which I love. We had a nice night at home and were very entertained by "finley the entertainer". I know everyone feels like this about their kid but we think she is the funniest/silliest girl we have ever been around. I made homemade BBQ chicken pizza and Finley kept wanting us to pray throughout the meal. Her new thing at dinner is she loves to hold out her hands to us and say "pray" and we feel bad if we don't.... so there we go again. Finally I told her that only one prayer was required at dinner and she seemed to drop it after that.(maybe she could just sense my "tone" :-) I absolutely love this age where you feel they can actually understand you and pick up on things- it is my favorite so far.
Here are some pictures of her being silly tonight:
How old does she look??? (excuse the BBQ pizza on her face)
She wanted all 6 bows in her hair at once... so that is what we did

I really hope the coke bottles don't hurt her eyes?!?!?

Today I am thankful for all of Finley's cute little friends. I know it seems that she is too young to have friends but she knows who they are and she loves them. And although she may hit them occasionally and steal their toys and only want what they are playing with at the time, she always lights up when we talk about Drew-bug, Evie Kate, Megan, Laci, Bella, ect. We are so blessed to have so many friends with little ones the same age as Finley and she loves being around them all the time. Lord willing, these are the girls that she will be with on that 1st day of kindergarden, go with to that 1st awkward dance in 7th grade and stand by them cause everyone is too scared to move, prom, youth group and on and on. Everytime we pick her up from MDO or church she always waves and says, "Bye fwrends!!" and we laugh but I'm so thankful for those fwrends!!

Today was gymnastics day! We usually go in the evening but we are switching to mornings so by noon we were done and that's a good feeling. It is much more calm in the morning class and Finley is really starting to listen and try most of the things- (except "doggy with a broken leg" which I think the name of that just freaks her out- she's such an animal lover!!) She loves doing flips at home and climbing on anything and everything so I hope that means she will get more athletic ability than her mother. I was a gymnastics drop-out cause I was scared of the high bar- (or maybe I got kicked out??) either way I could never and still can't do a cartwheel- but i've learned through the years that life does go on....

Here are some pictures I took of her after we got home.

She just woke up from her nap and was not ready for a photo shoot quite yet

She loves to crawl around on our bed and mess up the pillows

Dancing on our bed...

THis is last week at gymnastics:

Today I am thankful for our healthy family. Tonight at church they announced that a precious baby boy had died that we have been praying for the past 4 months. He had been in Children's Hospital since he was born. It's something i take for granted so much of the time but the fact that we have never spent a night in the hospital is something that a lot of people wish for.

Here are some photos of us at the park. Finley absolutely loves being outside especially when there is a swing or slide involved. The only problem I have about going to the park is the fit she throws when we leave... I feel like people are looking at me like I'm trying to kidnap her. Oh well, i guess it's worth it for all the smiles and giggles we get while we're there.

Oh our other favorite thing is eating ice cream.... here is Finley in action :-)

A New Beginning

So here we go again. I think we've tried this before but this time I will try my best to stick with it. Who says March 1st is too late to begin my New Years Resolution?? According to my husband that is just about right for me.....

As my baby girl is growing up so fast I feel like I need to capture every sweet little thing she does. She is becoming a "big girl" before our very eyes and a super fun one at that and full of personality.

I am going to try and take at least one photo of her every day and post on here with something I'm thankful for that day. I always felt such pressure to find something interesting to write about and frankly that is way too much pressure for this mom to handle, but I'm constantly reminded of things that I am grateful for, even if it is a trip to Target without a major meltdown!!

I hope you enjoy reading about us....
